1How many radios?

All our radios are professional licensed handhelds, with far more power and range than the licence-free walkie-talkies sold in shops. A rough number is fine. We go through the job with you afterwards and pick the right radios, whether that is our standard handhelds, rugged waterproof ones, a repeater for a big site or vehicle sets. Hire of 12 or more radios gets a discount.

2How long for?

Under a week is charged by the day, never more than a week. The weekly rate drops after 4 weeks and again after 12.

3Any extra accessories?

Every radio already comes with an earpiece, a spare battery and a charger. Add these if you need them.

  • Acoustic tube earpiece

    Discreet, for security and front of house. £3.00 a week.

  • Speaker microphone

    Clips to a shoulder or vest. £4.00 a week.

  • Heavy-duty headset

    Noise-cancelling, for plant, pits and crowds. £10.00 a week.

About the prices

How is the hire price worked out?

Hires under a week are charged by the day, up to the weekly rate, so a long weekend never costs more than a week. After that you pay the weekly rate, which drops after four weeks and again after twelve. Past a year it drops once more.

Is the estimate the final price?

It is a guide. We check availability and the details of the job, then confirm the price in writing before anything is booked. If the job needs something different, such as a repeater for a large building, we explain why and what it adds.

What is included in the price?

Programming, labelling, the Ofcom licence for the hire, a D-shape earpiece and a spare battery with every handheld, chargers and a carry case. Delivery is shown as its own line.

Do you charge a deposit?

Not usually for established businesses, schools, councils or charities. For a new account we may ask for a deposit or payment up front, and we tell you before you commit.

Can I change the order after booking?

Yes. Add radios, swap a model, extend the hire or end it early. We adjust the bill to what you actually used.
