Two-way radios for security teams
An operative who sees a problem needs every colleague and the control room to know about it at once, and a guard on a night patrol needs to know that help will come if they stop answering. Radios do both. Phones do neither reliably.
We set security fleets up with an emergency button that sends the operative's ID to the group and the control room, lone-worker timers, and man-down on the HP605 and R7. Clear acoustic-tube earpieces keep the radio out of sight. Digital encryption stops anyone listening in on a scanner. The control room normally has a display radio or a base station so the supervisor can see who is calling.
Door and event security teams hire by the shift or the weekend. Guarding contracts usually lease for the term of the contract, with batteries and replacements included.
Typical accessories
- Acoustic-tube earpieces, 1 and 2-wire
- Covert kits
- Remote speaker microphones

What matters in security
The problems radios solve here, and how we set them up.
Raising the alarm
One press of the orange button sends an emergency call with the radio's ID and opens the microphone so the control room can hear what is happening.
Lone patrols
Lone-worker timers and man-down alarms cover the guard who is on their own in a car park or an empty building at night.
Discretion
Clear acoustic-tube earpieces with an in-line PTT button let staff work a door or a shop floor without holding a radio.
Privacy
Digital channels with encryption switched on cannot be heard on a consumer scanner.

Security: common questions
Can the radios link to our CCTV control room?
Yes. A base station in the control room talks to every handheld. On town-centre schemes we can also connect to the existing Shopwatch or CCTV radio link.
Do you supply radios for SIA door teams?
Yes. Door teams usually take FW-400 radios with acoustic-tube earpieces by the shift or the week. For a regular venue a small leased fleet works out cheaper.
Are the channels private?
Digital channels with encryption enabled cannot be picked up on a scanner. We also set up a separate supervisor channel that operatives cannot hear if you want one.
